Wallpaper puts the _____ in your _____.
 Wallpaper = decorative content
Wallpaper is one aspect of decoration
Wallpaper refers to the material used for decoration
Wallpaper is material which is used to cover and decorate your visual realm
Wallpaper can also mean:
The term wallpaper refers to a small pattern that was repeated to fill a space
Wallpapers can come either plain or with patterned graphics
Wallpaper display techniques include, "mathematically speaking", seventeen basic patterns, that can be used to fill an infinite plane. All wallpaper patterns are based on these groups. A single pattern can be issued in several different fortes
A wallpaper group (or plane symmetry group or plane crystallographic group) is a mathematical concept to classify repetitive designs on two-dimensional surfaces, such as walls, based on the symmetries in the pattern. Such patterns occur frequently in architecture and decorative art. The mathematical study of such patterns reveals that exactly 17 different types of patterns can occur.
Wallpaper groups are related to the simpler frieze groups, and to the more complex three-dimensional crystallographic groups (also called space groups).
The term wallpaper refers to an image used to fill the space on a screen, usually created to inspire the viewer.
Wallpaper that is art created on a computer in digital form is sometimes refereed to as Digital art. Digital art can be purely computer-generated, such as fractals, or taken from another source, such as a scanned photograph, or an image drawn using vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics tablet. Though technically the term may be applied to art done using other media or processes and merely scanned in, it is usually reserved for art that has been nontrivially modified by a computing process (such as a computer program, micro controller or any electronic system capable of interpreting an input to create an output); digitized text data and raw audio and video recordings are not usually considered digital art in themselves, but can be part of a larger project.
Wallpaper that is art created for a mobile device is sometimes refereed to as Mobile Wallpaper. Mobile Wallpaper like a mobile game, is a piece of content that is installed on a mobile device. A wallpaper is simply a design that is formatted to fit the screen of hand held devices in various physical dimensions.
Wallpaper can also mean:
Background: refers to the part of a scene that appears to be farthest from the viewer
Background: is sometimes used as a synonym for wallpaper
Background: lighting is a film technique used to fill space
Background: is known as the painted "scenery" in an animation or cartoon
Wallpaper can also mean:
Professionals working within the concepts of Wallpaper are sometimes called VJs
A VJ is a performance artist who performs moving visual art on large displays, often at concerts, nightclubs and music festivals. The term originates from a parallel with DJs, although most VJs nowadays have more to do with musicians than with DJs. Often using a vision mixer, VJs blend and superimpose various video sources into a live motion composition. In recent years, electronic musical instrument makers have begun to make specialty equipment for VJing. The evolution of computers has allowed for VJ-specific programs to be produced and has allowed for easier accessibility to the art form.
A VJ manipulates video in much the same way that a DJ mixes records. The techniques and equipment vary but the basic principles remain the same (e.g. selecting, cross fading, scratching, cutting and sampling a rhythm). Some VJs concentrate on just visuals, mixing and manipulating video or film, to create stunning projections.
The Light Surgeons are a notable example of this sort of VJ crew, and similar work can be seen in many dance clubs. Other VJs use both sound and vision, mixing audiovisual samples to create whole collages. As an example, the artist Coldcut has developed AV mixing software that can create tracks where what you see is what you hear." - VJS.net 2002
"What is VJing? It means improvising with visuals, specifically those rendered via projected light. The expression originally referred to the Video Jockey (as a counterpart to the disk jockey), but its more accurately Visuals Jockey - a general descriptor that encompasses older, non-video avocations such as 'running the light show'" - The VJ Book, Paul Spinrad 2005
